Week Note 10

Mar 2–8, 2026

Things seem to be getting better, little by little. December felt like rock bottom. January was a slight improvement, and February was a bit better than January. It’s not a dramatic change, but the fact that things are moving up instead of down is a relief. I hope March keeps that trend going.

There’s been a strange, intermittent pain in my left arm — appearing and disappearing without warning. The area around the surgery site itched a bit and I scratched it, which has been causing small wounds, so I need to be more careful. Lately I’ve been doing grip strengthening exercises with a hand gripper and wrist rotation. When I lift heavier weights, my elbow is fine now, but I sometimes feel pain in my wrist. Apparently the angle at which I grip dumbbells or barbells isn’t quite right yet, so I’m gradually working through the rehab exercises.

I’ve started development on the next version of my contract work. This version is less about adding new features and more about laying the groundwork for the next phase — improving existing functionality and fixing bugs. I’m aiming to work more carefully this time, even if it means going slower. I’ve noticed that the code AI generates has been getting a bit sloppier, so I’m trying to write more code myself, or at least review AI-generated code more rigorously.

My personal project is in the final stretch of its next version. I’ve been cleaning up features that had been scattered and fragmented, fixing bugs and making improvements along the way. Unexpected issues keep popping up, which slows things down, but I feel like the quality is genuinely improving — it’s both nerve-wracking and satisfying at the same time. I also need to prepare App Store screenshots and marketing materials, so the design work is taking longer than expected. Still, I’m enjoying the process.

This month I restarted the flower subscription I had last year — a monthly delivery service run by a social enterprise that trains and directly employs deaf florists. It’s a way to donate, bring some flowers home, and do a little good all at once. My mom especially loves it, and it’s my small version of filial duty. A few months ago, even something like this felt out of reach. I’m glad I can do it again.
