Oct. 19–25, 2026
Since the features I’d planned weren’t ready, I focused first on making my personal app work with iPhone Duo and released that update. Starting with the iOS 27.1 SDK, the app is set up to prevent a black screen from appearing on iPhone Duo, so the work was fairly straightforward. Since my personal app is just a simple widget app, I hadn’t paid much attention to the main app, but I’d like to make it work better. In particular, I’d love to expand it a bit more, since there are so many different poses and layouts. It’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot.
This week, a major PHP security issue came to light, so I checked the projects I’m working on. I don’t use PHP directly, so there shouldn’t be any problems, but I still asked AI to check, just to be safe. It also made me realize that I should regularly check security whenever I work on my projects.
I found a critical bug right before bed, so I fixed it quickly and uploaded a TestFlight build. Since I happened to find it just before bed, I figured it’d be better to fix everything before going to sleep, so I stayed up a little later.
The swelling and pain in my left arm haven’t improved much, so I’ve been trying to use it less. I moved my MacBook below the monitor so I can use its built-in trackpad more easily with my right hand, and I’ve been keeping my left arm under the desk and icing it. That seems to be helping a little.
It’s gotten colder, so I brought out the heated floor mat. The weather is getting chillier by the day. The colors of the autumn leaves are starting to catch my eye, so I’ve been taking lots of photos. I want to enjoy the passing autumn a little more before winter comes.
What I’ve been up to this week…
