I went to the hospital because I felt a bothersome pain in my left arm last week. Fortunately, it turned out that I didn’t need to worry too much. Still, I think I need to be a little more careful about lifting heavy things and using my left arm from now on. I felt a little sad because it seems that the things I can do are becoming slightly more limited because of my left arm.
These days, I’ve been looking for things I no longer use and selling them secondhand through Karrot(local community marketplace). I bought several keyboards because they looked nice, but I kept only the retro game-console-style keyboard I bought most recently and sold the rest. I also got rid of clothes and stuffed animals I had cherished. I didn’t think I would miss them. I wore the clothes often and loved the stuffed animals with all my heart. Maybe that’s why it was easy to let them go. I think it’s because I loved them wholeheartedly. Things I only liked halfway seem to be the things I look for again or have trouble throwing away. Maybe this applies not only to objects, but to people too. There’s something unsatisfying about ambiguous relationships. I want to keep good people close so I can maintain meaningful relationships with all my heart. I also want to take good care of the relationships I have now.
At last, I finished version 1.6 and released it. I changed my goal from completing everything I had originally planned to trimming it down, finishing it, and submitting it. Since Apple is holding an event on September 9, I thought it would be better to wrap up this release before then and move on to the next version afterward. This version still has plenty of things I wish were better, but I’m glad I managed to release it before the end of the month.
Seeing sales and other numbers improve makes me inexplicably happy. Of course, one app alone is nowhere near enough to live on. Even so, it’s fun. It’s hard, but it’s fun. It makes me want to keep going. New feature ideas and app ideas keep coming to mind.
In September, I have a hospital appointment scheduled. I need surgery to remove the metal rod in my left arm. Until then, I’ll take care of myself and spend my time preparing things I can do while I’m hospitalized and recovering. It looks like I’ll be busier than I expected.
