Week Note 24

Jun 8–14, 2026

WWDC26 happened this week, so I took work a little more slowly. I mainly watched the keynote and picked out a few sessions I was curious about. This year, many of the announcements were focused on performance improvements, so the event felt a little quiet to me. Siri is said to have improved a lot, but I will need to try it myself to know how it actually feels. Since it is only available on the latest models, I decided not to update my main phone yet and to keep watching for now. My test phone is not supported either, so it may take a while before I can check the new Siri myself. Still, a new widget size was announced, and I’m excited because I think I can add that size to I Need That Widget and show it as part of the app. I can finally promote my own updated app when a new operating system is announced.

Because it was WWDC26 week, I could not post much on social media, but I Need That Widget still reached 18th place on the paid productivity chart in the Korean App Store. It was nice to see it go higher than the previous 34th place. The ranking dropped over time, but it stayed within the top 50 for about three days. That said, the data did not show any revenue from Korea. I think some other factor may have pushed the ranking up, though I am not sure what it was, and I was disappointed that it did not lead to Korean revenue. There also seemed to be some price movement because of exchange rates, so this time I used the Price Parity Calculator available through a subscription to Kickstart, an app that supports developers, and adjusted app prices by country. I do not have meaningful data yet, but I plan to watch over time and see whether it has any effect.

I upgraded to the Codex Pro x5 plan. I will probably need to run two or three projects in parallel going forward, so I plan to try operating that way for about a month first. I am not using it by spending a huge amount of tokens and handing over every task. Instead, I mostly use it to review my code, catch things I missed, or take care of work I had been putting off because it felt tedious, so I do not hit the token limit easily. Of course, that could change if I handed over 100% of the work, but even if it is still a little slow and difficult, I do not plan to entrust everything to it entirely. I hope the higher cost brings back enough value to make it worthwhile.

This time, I also replied to an email from someone who had previously sent feedback. It was the kind of feedback that said, “It would be nice to have this feature,” and I sent a reply explaining the feature that was added in v1.4. Quite a bit of time had passed, but I still sent the email and received a thank-you reply. There are not many users who send feedback, so within the range I can manage, I want to keep replying to feedback emails like this.

I thought the difficult situation might finally be ending, but something new came up, so things are still not easy. It would be nice if there were a clear way for things to get better, but the situation is not that simple. For now, I am trying to hold on and keep going within what I can do. Still, I am grateful that there have been a few moments and bits of help that make the difficult situation a little better. They feel like signals telling me, somehow, to keep working and keep holding on.
